Don't let the title scare you! In this session, I will present pluralism as an effective set of ground rules for talking with students about difficult subjects, and will share some thoughts about using philosophical categories to foster understanding and communication. Before taking the JROTC position this year, I taught World Religions for eight years. Each semester, I began with these topics and created a classroom culture in which we were able to talk constructively about religion, politics, and moral controversies free from anger and arguing.
